This machine didn't do anything but give me a steam facial and get everything wet. I don't know if I was doing something wrong or what because I saw many great reviews but for me this machine isn't even worth 20 dollars let alone the $45.00 that i paid. I did notice that there is a trick to getting a more effective steam but still didn't do what i expected.It was also really small with tiny attachments.
I tried 4 applications:
1) The first place i tried was along the outer edge of my bathtub.I have a bad back so sometimes this area gets a little neglected. I do have to get down and spray "Scrubbing bubbles" and scrub a little. I somehow thought i would be able to "steam" this grime right off and wipe away. WRONG! It did NOTHING.I even went ahead and sprayed some "Scrubbing Bubbles" On it to see if it would come off easier after the steam.. but nope.. just the same, only wetter.
2)Next, I tried the light soap scum on my bathtub.. i purposely left this for a few days so I could use my steamer! again..NOTHING! SO, i sprayed my "Scrubbing Bubbles" on and easily cleaned up this mess too.
3)Next, I cleaned the vent on the bottom of my fridge. This did get fairly clean but it was more from air and water pressure blowing off the dirt rather than 'steaming". It was easier than taking a sponge to it.. but I am not paying 45.00 to clean my fridge vent once a month!
4)Last, I tried my stove top.. which I again, purposely left dirty to try my steamer on.. so it had about 3 days of grease and grime on it. On the tough grime it really did nothing. I still had to use the same amount of elbow grease to clean it. THe one thing it did do was melt away some of the grease because of the steam. However... it is just as easy to spray a cleaner on a give it a little scrub.
So, in conclusion, I just think this thing is a piece of crap. I wanted something so I could STOP using cleaners and just use steam.. but I ended up using both.
I would NOT even want this as a gift...really... i would rather get a can of "Scrubbing Bubbles"

I purchased this item to steam curtains, my sofa, upholstered chairs etc, sanitize items and for other miscellaneous tasks. It only blows steam hot enough to sanitize for a minute or so and then you have to wait another minute or so for the light to turn green. The green light indicates the steam is hot enough to sanitize. It makes tasks take way too long. I tried to steam the wrinkles out of my curtains and was shocked that it didn't work. I had to iron them. I have used it to successfully steam odors out of furniture but it does nothing for stains. I would have returned this item but the shipping would have been too much so I just kept it. It's a waste of money.

I looked at all the steamers for sale through Amazon. This one is just what I need at a price I can live with. I have already used it for our floor grout, screen door screens, windows, counter tops and many other areas to disinfect and clean. It is easy to use, fast steam and comes with nice accessories. I don't steam everyday and the floors get done about once a year so I didn't want to pay too much. This little unit is dependable with not much to go wrong with it. It is a little bit of a hassle doing the tile grout because you have to push the button with one hand and with the other hand use the brush and steam nozzle but it is still okay with that. This unit is small and easy to store away and I will use it more than I originally thought since it is easy to use and store away.
